PEIPolyetherimide

PEI (Polyetherimide)

PEI is clear amber colored amorphous resin that exhibits high heat, creep, and impact resistance, as well as dimensional stability. This material can be used in many industries where safety is a priority, from aircraft parts to parts for medical devices.

Properties

Heat resistance

Can be used in applications with a continuous operating temperature of 170C. The heat deflection temperature (1.82MPa) is 200C.

Mechanical property

Stable strength and rigidity even at high temperatures; however, notch radius and shape must be considered.

Hydrolysis resistance

Provides resistance to steam and hot water.

Electronic property

Exhibits excellent insulating and dielectric properties over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies.

Flame resistance

UL94 V-0 (0.43t) certified and used in aircraft components.
